Manuel Pellegrini’s West Ham are still fighting for a European finish in the Premier League this season, but there is certainly work that needs to be done in the summer transfer window to the squad.

The Hammers have been quite inconsistent during the campaign and could do with a couple of fresh faces at the London Stadium in key areas.

They need to try fix the right-back situation, where Ryan Fredericks is still hit-and-miss and veteran defender Pablo Zabaleta is out of contract at the end of the season as it stands.

West Ham should consider finding a new full-back in the transfer market and turning attention to London rivals Tottenham could be a smart move.

According to the Sun, Spurs are prepared to offload both right-backs Kieran Trippier and Serge Aurier in the next transfer window.

Pellegrini should consider eyeing 26-year-old Aurier, who could help solve his problems in the backline.

The report details that the Ivory Coast international cost Spurs £23million, but that he could be sold for half that fee.

Aurier would be a bargain at £11.5million for any team in England and that is why West Ham should make an enquiry.

The 26-year-old hasn’t quite managed to cement himself as a regular in the Spurs XI, but shown real glimpses of quality in the Premier League and was formerly on the books of Paris Saint-Germain.

Aurier is a speed machine that is a tough defender to beat one-on-one and also provides a serious danger going forward.

He’s made 17 appearances across all competitions this season, scoring two goals and supplying three assists in return.

The no-nonsense defender could be a real hit with Hammers fans and that is why the club should consider him if he is set for an exit.
