The 23-year-old is enjoying life at the King Power Stadium after he broke his duck in Wednesday's League Cup win

Leicester City striker Ademola Lookman has stated he is trying to adapt to his new environment and also get along with his teammates.

The RB Leipzig loanee opened his goal account for the Foxes in their 2-0 victory against Millwall in the League Cup third round, a few days after he had his goal disallowed in their Premier League defeat to Brighton & Hove Albion.

Lookman pounced on a rebound after Kelechi Iheanacho's shot was parried by goalkeeper George Long to open the scoring at the Den on Wednesday.

As they continue preparations for their next Premier League fixture against Burnley on Saturday, the 23-year-old said he is enjoying every bit of his time in Brendan Rodgers’ team and he is ready to build on his opening goal for the club.

“Understanding my teammates was going to take some time and obviously for them to understand me also with my movements, so as time goes on, I think we’ll gel better together,” Lookman told LCFC TV.

“I’m loving it, I’m loving every single minute. I'm trying to learn and just be a sponge and get as much information as I can. We’re looking forward to the weekend now and the Burnley game, just to recover and get right and hopefully I can feature in the game on Saturday and hopefully just help the team.

"I’ll be ready. It’s my job to be ready, to be available for all the games and that’s what I look to do. I just look forward to every single game. They’re not just [physical], they play football as well so it’s going to be another battle, another hard match for us and we need to be ready and hopefully get the result.

“Every game is important. I think if we battle and show our quality as we did [against Millwall], I think we’ll do the job.”

Lookman reflected on Wednesday’s goal and he described Super Eagles talisman Iheanacho as a ‘great finisher’ after he secured their passage to the League Cup fourth round with his 88th minute effort.

“I’m delighted to get my first Leicester goal," he added. "I’m just happy to get it in front of the fans as well, so hopefully it’s the first of many.

“I knew Kelechi was going to shoot and I just followed it in really and cushioned it into the net. It’s always nice to score, I’m glad.

“Kelechi is a great finisher as we know and off the crossbar and in, it doesn’t come much sweeter than that!”
