The 2012 Africa Women Cup of Nations (AWCN) silver medalist on what the Buccaneers need to do to turn their current form around

Banyana Banyana legend Amanda Dlamini says Orlando Pirates' biggest problem is lack of consistency following their defeat to Black Leopards on Sunday.

The Buccaneers succumbed to a 2-0 defeat to Lidoda Duvha in a PSL match which took place at Thohoyandou Stadium in Limpopo.

It was Pirates' second defeat in their last four league games having won one match in the process and Dlamini, who played for South Africa at the 2016 Olympic Games, discussed Bucs' recent struggles.

"I think that has always been Orlando Pirates' biggest problem or biggest challenge. It is that lack of consistency," Dlamini told SuperSport TV after the match.

"They do well in one game or two games and the third one on the road probably they lose it. So I think for them, it has been about consistency.

"But of course, there are a lot of factors which attributed to their loss today. They will go back and try to rectify."

The retired midfielder believes that Pirates remain a good team and that they will be able to get their league title charge back on track.

"It doesn't make them a bad team overnight, but of course you need that quality from them. They are seasoned campaigners," she continued.

"They should be able to deal with these kinds of situations. For them I think, it is just back to the drawing board for them as usual."

Pirates will now take on an unbeaten Lamontville Golden Arrows side in a league game at Orlando Stadium on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, Leopards ended their five-match winless run when they defeated Pirates and the win took them out of the relegation zone as they are now placed 14th on the PSL log.

Dlamini revealed that the Lidoda Duvha players feel that their inability to hold onto a lead has been their main problem this season.

"Well, I had a brief opportunity to chat to some of the players, who said 'we take the lead, but we cannot identify moments when we have to apply game management whereby we say in the 70th minute maybe let us consolidate and make sure that we get that one extra goal'. That is the experience that they need," she said.

Dlamini also believes that Leopards will not be involved in a relegation battle if they win their next game which is against Cape Town City at Thohoyandou Stadium on Wednesday.

"But of course, this is a starting area for them. It can only get better for them. If they get at least another win, I think they will be out of this relegation fight," she concluded.
