The Dockers and Sharks final has been postponed due to heavy rains and will now be played from the second half on Sunday

Bandari and Kariobangi Sharks will have to continue their match on Sunday to decide the winner of the FKF Shield Cup tournament for the 2018/19 season.

This is after the final was stopped on Saturday, owing to the heavy rains that pounded Nairobi City and its environs leaving the match venue – Kasarani – to reach an unplayable condition.

The teams had headed into the tunnel for half-time after an entertaining first half that saw Bandari take a deserved 2-1 lead when the heavens opened up, forcing the match referee to call off the tie after assessing the situation of the venue.

“We will replay the game on Sunday and it will kick-off at 11 am. The match will be played at the same venue and will start from the second half,” one of the FKF official's, who did not want to be named, told Goal at Kasarani.

The visiting Dockers took the lead through Yema Mwana after he managed to beat keeper Gad Mathews with a long range effort. Mwana grabbed his brace in the 23rd minute after he sneaked into Kariobangi Sharks box and eventually fired past Mathews for Bandari's second goal.

The Sharks had to wait until the 29th minute to pull one goal back after Kapaito got past Bandari's backline before cutting back for Patillah Omoto to shoot and beat Farouk Shikalo from some distance away from the box.

The two teams will now wait until Sunday to know who will represent the country in the Caf Confederation Cup next season.

Meanwhile, in the third-place play-off, Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side KCB thrashed Divison One side SS Assad 7-1 at the same venue.

Braces from Clinton Kisiakuki and Simon Munala coupled with solo goals from Bolton Omwenga and Benson Amianda were enough to hand KCB Shs750, 000 for finishing third.

SS Assad scored their solitary goal in the 85th minute when Abdallah Mdeka beat Peter Manyika in goal. The Coastal-based side went home with Shs500, 000 for finishing fourth.
