Bakgaga has decided to trim their squad with the season having been halted due to the Covid-19 outbreak in the country

Premier Soccer League (PSL) strugglers Baroka FC have announced that they have released four players with immediate effect.

The players are defender Kamogelo Mogaswa, attackers Ranga Chivaviro, Mogau Khwinana and Tebogo Sodi.

The Limpopo-based club released the following statement on their official Twitter page on Sunday afternoon:

"We would like to inform you that we have released the following players. 1: Kamogelo Mogaswa 2: Ranga Chivaviro 3: Mogau Khwinana 4: Tebogo Sodi," a club statement read.

Bakgaga Ba Mphahlele have struggled in the league this season as they find themselves in 13th spot on the standings.

They are level on points with AmaZulu FC, who are in the relegation play-off spot with six matches left this season which has been suspended indefinitely due to the coronavirus pandemic since March 2020.

Mogaswa, who is a right-back by trade, saw limited game time this term which was also his debut season in the PSL having made only five appearances in the competition.

Chivaviro spent the first round of the current campaign out on loan at National First Division (NFD) side TS Sporting where he scored once in six league appearances.

The 27-year-old marksman was recalled by Bakgaga midway through the season and he scored once in seven PSL matches.

Meanwhile, Khwinama also failed to impress as he made only one appearance for the team having featured in the Nedbank Cup Round of 16 clash against ABC Motsepe side Hungry Lions three months ago.

On the other hand, Sodi has been out on loan at NFD giants Moroka Swallows where he has scored twice in two league matches.

Lastly, Baroka's marketing manager Richard Mashabane has confirmed the club will not be renewing Prince Nxumalo’s contract when it comes to an end next month.

“Yes, it is true that Prince Nxumalo will not be part of us after his contract comes to an end. We will make other announcements in due time,” Mashabane told Far Post.

The experienced marksman, who joined Bakgaga last November, has netted twice in 10 competitive matches.
