The exit of the French coach comes just a week after Kenya failed to go past Tanzania in the African Nations Championship qualifiers

Sebastien Migne is no longer the Harambee Stars coach after he parted ways with the team on Monday.

The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) confirmed in a statement seen by Goal that the French coach and the federation agreed to part ways.

“Football Kenya Federation and Harambee Stars coach Sebastien Migne have agreed to terminate the coach’s contract on mutual consent,” said the statement signed by FKF acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Barry Otieno.

The 46-year-old was appointed the Harambee Stars coach in May, 2018, replacing Belgian Paul Put - who had stepped down for personal reasons after just three months in the job.

Migne arrived from Congo Brazzaville, where he was in charge of the Red Devils before resigning.

He will be remembered to have beaten Ghana’s Black Stars and Ethiopia at home en route to securing the country’s ticket for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations held in Egypt.

He, however, failed to help Kenya reach the knockout phase after the Harambee Stars lost to Algeria and Senegal but managed to beat rivals Tanzania 3-2.

His stay with the team was thrown into doubt after he failed to beat Tanzania in the two-legged African Nations Championship qualifiers, where Kenya lost 4-1 on penalties to exit the competition.

Below is how Kenyans reacted on Twitter following Migne's exit.

To be fair, we have to thank Sebastien Miģne for helping @harambee__stars qualify for Afcon after 15 years in the wilderness. Now let's find a coach who can make our national team better. Someone who can teach proper football, not those mathogothanios we often do. Thanks! pic.twitter.com/ShmxOYV2tU
